Need to send a parcel across town or interstate? Start with the packed parcel, compare the services available for your route and check the booking details before you pay. With Sendaparcel, you can organise courier delivery and manage the shipment from your dashboard.
This guide walks through the process from your first measurements to following the tracking journey. Service availability, collection arrangements and estimated delivery times depend on the courier and destination.
What you need before you send a parcel
Have the pickup and delivery suburbs and postcodes, the number of boxes, each box's packed weight and outside dimensions, and your preferred collection date ready. You will also need complete sender and recipient contact and address details to finish the booking.
Check that the contents and packaging are accepted by the selected service. If you still need to prepare the box, use our posting parcels checklist before requesting a final quote.
Step 1: enter the route and parcel details
Begin with Sendaparcel's courier quote comparison. Enter the pickup and destination locations, choose the correct address types and add the packed measurements.
For identical boxes, use the quantity field with the size and weight of each box. For different boxes, enter the separate sizes. Avoid adding several boxes together as though they were one large carton.
Changing the route, quantity or dimensions can affect the available services and prices. Compare again after making changes so you choose a quote for the final shipment.
Step 2: compare the available courier services
Review the available prices alongside the service descriptions and estimated delivery information. More options may appear while other couriers are still responding, so allow the comparison to finish if you want to see every returned option.
Match the service to your delivery needs
For a nearby destination, explore local courier services. For a shipment crossing state borders, see interstate parcel delivery. Time-sensitive shipments may have faster courier options, subject to availability and conditions.
Compare the final cost, not just the first number
Check whether a displayed quote is ex GST and review the total including GST before paying. Consider the relevant service conditions, cover and exclusions. Our Cheap Parcel Delivery guide explains how to compare value without relying on a headline price alone.
Step 3: add and check the full addresses
Enter the correct street and unit or suite details, business name where relevant, recipient name, phone number and email. Check the suburb, state and postcode as a group, and use the correct business or residential setting.
Add practical access or delivery instructions where appropriate. Instructions do not guarantee that a courier can provide a request outside the selected service's conditions.
If you send regularly, create an account and save familiar addresses and parcel sizes. You should still check saved information before using it for a new delivery.
Step 4: review and confirm the booking
Check the parcel count, addresses, selected service, collection date and total. Follow the payment and booking steps shown for your account, then review the resulting confirmation.
Saving a draft or receiving a quote does not book the courier. Keep the booking reference, and check that courier confirmation and collection details are present. If the booking needs attention, resolve the displayed issue before treating it as ready for handover.
You can return to the shipment through your Sendaparcel dashboard.
Step 5: print the labels and prepare for pickup
When labels are ready, open Labels & printing and choose the available layout that matches your printer. Print each parcel's label clearly and attach it to the correct box, keeping the barcode flat and unobstructed.
Have every labelled parcel ready at the confirmed collection address. Make sure the pickup contact can provide access and knows the parcel count. Courier collection requirements differ, so follow the details attached to your booking.
Step 6: follow the tracking journey
Use your Sendaparcel shipment reference, booking ID or courier tracking number to locate the shipment in your dashboard. Review the full journey for the latest available status and scans.
A label-created status means the paperwork exists; it is not, by itself, proof that the courier has collected the parcel. Tracking updates depend on the courier's scans and the time those updates reach the system.
